Commercial Lift Station Design: Pumps/Controls/Basins

Starting with the basics! This presentation will explore the various considerations for sizing and designing equipment for commercial lift stations and pump equipment. This presentation is designed to provide plumbing engineers with a solid foundation in the design basics of commercial pump systems. Whether you’re occasionally tasked with designing such systems for larger commercial buildings or you are already familiar with these systems, this presentation offers valuable insights and practical knowledge. 
 
The presentation will cover sizing and design guidelines for both sanitary and groundwater systems, explore the various available layouts for pump systems indoors vs. outdoors, explain the options for elevator sump pump layouts, explain rail removal systems and packaged four way valves, explain how to appropriately size a basin, and cover the equipment utilized in special conditions such as heat, corrosive fluids, or hazardous environments. 

Tyler grew up in Caledonia, MI, and pursued higher education at Grand Valley State University and the University of Florida. Following four years of service as a Captain in the US Army, Tyler returned to Rockford, MI, where he enjoys a fulfilling life with his wife and their one-year-old son. In his free time, Tyler loves family bike rides, staying active, and playing golf.
